During the week of January 11th, Oversight took part in Ignite, Concur’s annual sales kickoff event. Ignite attendees traveled from all over the globe to attend the kickoff. The event was held in Seattle, Washington and it was a blast. For me it was my first time in Seattle so I was not sure what to expect when I arrived. Needless to say, Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited: from the calming blue waters, to the snowcapped mountains, to the eclectic art pieces sprawled throughout the city. My weekend of bliss exploring this new place set the scene for the success of the Concur events to follow.
The Ignite events were spread throughout the course of the week and were crafted for Concur representatives and partners to have a strong start to a new year. Concur representatives and partners utilized the time to build their networks, learn about Concur’s 2016 initiatives, and sneak in a little bit of fun. The first event I took part in was a networking dinner for a handful of Concur partners and representatives held at the Westland Distillery. It’s unconventional to have a work event at a place that specializes in craft whiskey; however, the locale was a clear nod to the spirit of Seattle. Amongst the cool backdrop of whiskey barrels, my colleagues and I met many of the Concur Client Executives that we’ve worked with over the phone. The opportunity to meet the Concur representatives face-to-face allowed us to strengthen our existing relationships and speak about strategies in introducing more Concur clients to Oversight. During the dinner we also met our fellow Concur partners who are featured on Concur’s App Center. Through our conversations it was clear that the power of the Concur platform is stronger than ever.
The following day Oversight participated in another networking event at Seattle’s EMP Museum. The Museum has three floors of meeting space and Concur made sure to fill them all. While my colleagues were handling business at the Oversight booth, I spent three hours walking up and down three flights of stairs to meet as many people as possible. I met countless Concur representatives, some of whom I knew virtually, but many who were new connections from Australia and other faraway places. By the end of the night I was so exhausted that I could barely stand, but it was well worth it! The connections the Oversight team made solidified a great start to the continued growth in the Oversight/Concur partnership.
Overall, Ignite forecasted another great year for Concur and its partners and their work improving the world of Travel & Expense. Together our systems provide the best in travel management services: from automating the process of reporting expenses to automating the compliance monitoring process and everything in between. Kudos to Concur for having such a successful kickoff event!
